INTERIOR POLICY OF FELIPE IV

During his period as valid, the Count-Duke made a series of reforms to maintain hegemony in Europe. These changes took shape in four aspects: reform public life, promote the economy, improve the farm and promote the formation of the common army. One of this reforms was the Union of Arms which proposed that all the kingdoms ruled by the Spanish Monarchy provide soldiers and found to cover the cost of the European wars. Spain went bankrupt several times and provoked domestic rebellions. The most serious ones were in Catalonia and Portugal.
