The policy of imposing Catholicism and discriminating against the religious minorities caused the Moriscos in Granada to revolt in 1568. The revolt, known as the War of the Alpujarras, was finally suppressed the army led by John of Austria in 1570.
His problem with his son Carlos the shilly that wanted territories and make an alliance with Ireland. He became prisioner and he died.
